Biography
I, Dr. Bhavesh Parmar, was born in Junagadh, Gujarat, India. I received my B.Sc. (2010) and M.Sc. (2012), degrees in Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Saurashtra University, Rajkot (India). After obtaining my master’s degree, I joined the research group of Dr. E. Suresh as a Project Assistant at the CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSIR-CSMCRI), Bhavnagar (India). I have completed my Ph.D. (2020) from the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR), Ghaziabad (India), in the area of structural and functional aspects of multidimensional coordination polymers and metal-organic frameworks. During my Ph.D., I was selected as a CSIR-Senior Research Fellow (CSIR-SRF) (2017-2020). After completing my Ph.D., I took the Institute Postdoctoral Fellow (i-PDF) position at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, Punjab (India) (2020-21). In 2020, I was selected for the position of CSIR-Research Associate and joined the same at CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSIR-CSMCRI), Bhavnagar (India) (2021-2022). In 2021, I was selected for the prestigious JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship and joined the same at the Department of Applied Chemistry, Kyushu University, Fukuoka (Japan) (2022-2024) to explore my research in Japan. Currently, I am working as a Research Assistant Professor in the Yanai Lab at the Department of Applied Chemistry, Kyushu University, Fukuoka (Japan) (2024-). My main research interest lies in the development of multifunctional CPs/MOFs and MOF-based nanocomposites for their applications in sensing and encapsulating organic/inorganic pollutants, CO2 sequestration, heterogeneous catalysis, electrocatalysis, photofunctional materials, photonics, triplet fusion, singlet fission, and quantum information science. I have expertise and experience in small molecule crystallography and called myself a chemical crystallographer.
